Abdul Redha Abu Al Hassan, the Director of the Rail Planning and Development of the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is a vibrant, enthusiastic and approachable personality with superior managerial and organizational skills. Possessing these skills qualified him to be one of the main key personnel supervising and leading one of the most awaited prestigious projects in the Emirate of Dubai-the Metro.

Julian Hill leads Atkins’ Rail Group in the Middle East. He is a Chartered Civil and Structural Engineer with 19 years’ experience working in multidisciplinary railway teams, with involvement in managing the design and site supervision on a number of major projects.

Prior to moving to Dubai, Julian worked in Hong Kong where he was Project Manager for the design and site supervision of the East Tsim Sha Tsui Station Public Transport Interchange. He was also Resident Engineer and Lead Civil/Structural Engineer on a number of major rail projects constructed by the MTR Corporation and Kowloon-Canton Railway Corporation.

Julian was Project Manager for the design of the four underground stations on the Dubai Metro Red Line and is currently leading Atkins’ design team for the Green Line.

Dominic McPolin is a Chartered Town Planner and is the Executive Coordinator and Head of the Central Planning Unit within Bahrain’s Ministry of Works and Housing. Dominic is also a Chartered Surveyor with a number of degrees and postgraduate qualification in Project Management and Finance and has a MBA in Construction.

Dominic’s introduction to the Middle East Region began in the late 80’s when he was appointed Senior Planner for the conservation of the ancient city of Baghdad, which at the time was the largest urban conservation project in the world.

Later as co-author of the 1988 Dublin Development Plan, Dominic was responsible for the creation of the framework for the transformation of the City of Dublin having previously worked in London, Belfast, the Republic of Ireland and Germany.

Since 1988 Dominic has worked in Bahrain and is currently the head of the Central Planning Unit responsible for the coordination of planning and implementation of all infrastructure in Bahrain. In this role Dominic has served on a number of high level National committees such as steering committee for the Bahrain National Plan, the Economic Development Board infrastructure subcommittee, the Formula one task team, and the private power station development implementation committee.

Ed is an Associate Director and a qualified masterplanner and landscape architect based in Broadway Malyan’s London office. He is currently working as a masterplanner on a diverse range of projects and over the last 13 years has worked in the Middle East, Africa, Asia and Europe. This diversity has included the design of new cities in Jordan, creating new communities in Angola and resorts in Mauritius. Ed is currently involved with a number of high profile masterplanning projects in the United Arab Emirates including project management and lead design on the 750 hectare Mina Zayed mixed-use masterplan in Abu Dhabi.
